Between August 8 and 14, 2016, the state of Louisiana was hit with approximately 6.9 trillion gallons of rain, causing catastrophic flooding and devastation not seen in the United States since Hurricane Sandy of 2012. Thousands of people in Louisiana have lost everything they own and need our help. The Capital Area West Chapter of the Red Cross and Capital Area United Way are organizing efforts to assist those in need. The SLC made donations to help those affected.
